It's Monday, it's raining...don't let it keep you inside though. We encourage you to run through the wet streets and get yourself to one of these events. First up, in Brooklyn, local photoblogger Youngna Park will be exhibiting some works at the new Landscape Cafe [434 Union Ave in W'burg] tonight from 7-9 p.m. It's a great opportunity on this rainy evening to enjoy some Butternut Squash Ginger soup and look at some great photographs. More details:
The 24 ultrachrome digital prints by Youngna Park showcase two series reflecting the varying social and physical landscapes of Brooklyn. The first, "yellowcard portraits," samples local Williamsburg residents and visitors on a weekend morning, subjects to a sidewalk photography experiment exchanging candy canes for their portraits. The second displays the interaction between a group of friends, momentarily posing in one of the dark, gutted, and decrepit spaces within our own neighborhoods that might go unknown to most passerby unless intentionally made into part of the social landscape.
If you live in Manhattan and don't feel like sloshing through the rain to an outer burrough then maybe you should head over to the last Epochs show for quite some time. Gothamist loves the Epochs, and is sad they won't be around here while they record their new album, yet we're happy they're recording a new album. Happy, sad, happy, sad. Ah, the duality of Gothamist.

If you're adventurous, you could even do both! Just bring a good umbrella...
