Now that we haven't all been swept away in an arctic Nemo-induced sea of devil snow, it's time to go out and frolic during the season's first (and only?) awesome snowfall. The Parks Department has declared today an official "Snow Day," and they're organizing a whole bunch of free activities to celebrate the white stuff.
Sledding, snowman building, snowball fights and other wintry games will be held from noon until 3 p.m. today at Crotona Park in the Bronx, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Central Park, Juniper Valley Park in Queens and Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island. The Parks Department will be providing some sleds, and they'll also be giving out free hot chocolate for snow-goers. And if you want to do some solo sledding before the hills get too crowded, we've got a bunch of great spots to hit up before that virgin-white snow turns to yellow and grey.
