It's official: Fairway Market will open a 20,000-square foot store on Sixth Avenue, between 25th and 26th Street, in Chelsea. This will be the chain's fifth Manhattan location.
In February, Crain's had reported that Fairway was eyeing the space, "About 17,000 square feet is on the ground floor, with the remainder in the basement. The store will be at the base of a 33-story apartment building called the Chelsea Landmark." It's likely the olives will have covers.
Fairway, which had an IPO last week, will join the Trader Joe's on Sixth Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets and the Whole Foods on Seventh Avenue and 24th Street. Also, they are hiring!
