Shahidul works this halal cart. He says, "Lot of rules. Too much problem right now. Sometimes there is a problem with cleanliness. I got a $1000 ticket. The rules are a headache. I have everything they require already." Shahidul already has a sink, an aspect of sanitation that is emphasized in the clarified regulations.

The modifications will require all food carts to be under 10 feet in length. This cart qualifies.

Graduate studen Joshua Fesi, 31, says, "I'm not crazy about germs. I'm not hyper-paranoid like most people seem to be. I've never had food poisoning. If any food trucks got shut down because of regulations it would be sad." Famous last words, Fesi!

Artist Ron Weis, 65, tells us, "It's probably overkill. But there are probably some incidents when it's not overkill. But when you legislate for large and variable industries, those who don't have a problem end up with the inconvenience. And I don't know if there's an easy answer to that."
