A nice, safe, clean place to relieve oneself can be a tough thing to find in this town. But a new website is looking to change that, letting you go Web 1.0 or 2.0 in a stranger's home for a small fee. The name? AirPnP. Boom. Instant V.C.
The service, which is based out of New Orleans, sprung from the minds of two web developers looking to solve a simple problem for this week's Mardi Gras festivities: so much pee, so few places to pee into. So Max Gaudin and Travis Laurendine decided to create AirPnP (whose tagline is "Pee All That You Can Pee") to help get urinators off the streets and into someone's home. According to their website, there are already 29 places one can pee in New Orleans using the service.
The service has yet to really take off in New York City, with currently only two locations listed. One, in Midtown, has a $5 charge and a cute dog to keep you company. Of course, after your stay, you can review the bathroom. One review from this morning says, "great place to go. had a bm there and was fine. super clean. I'll go there again."
The other listing in New York City is of a more luxury experience in Crown Heights, offering bathroom users "a toilet, jacuzzi, and a shower, which is both hot and has excellent water pressure." That will run you a cool $10, but can you really put a price on a midday jacuzzi soak/BM?
Between AirPnP and Breather, New Yorkers will soon no longer sign leases, but instead become a nomadic group, purchasing space for limited amounts of time so they can work, have sex, and as nature dictates, relieve themselves. [Via Brokelyn]
