Kryzie King, the 27-year-old transgender woman accused of brutally abusing and torturing 4-year-old Myls Dobson in the weeks leading up to his January 8th death, has been indicted for felony assault, according to reports. She has not, however, been charged with murder.

Myls was left in King's care on December 18th; she has been described as the girlfriend of Myls' father, Okee Wade, who was arrested in New Jersey on outstanding bank fraud charges on December 19th. King allegedly admitted to cops that she had been beating, burning and otherwise torturing the toddler, "giving him corporal punishment" in order "to control him." In one incident, cops say King told them she stripped Myls down to his underwear and locked him on her Midtown apartment's outdoor balcony in subfreezing temperatures.

She also told authorities she had been starving Myls, giving him a "Christmas meal" on December 26th; he lost 14 pounds in the few weeks he stayed with her, and on the day of his death he reportedly begged her to take him to McDonald's. Instead, she allegedly told cops she locked him in the bathroom of her apartment; he was later found unconscious and unresponsive in her bathtub.

This afternoon, King will be indicted on charges of felony assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. However, the Manhattan D.A.'s office says they may still add a homicide charge to the count. "The People are investigating the defendant for murder in the first degree and murder in the second degree and will likely bring additional charges," prosecutor Nicole Blumberg told the court last month. They are waiting for autopsy results to reveal the toddler's exact cause of death.
