A new report downplays the seriousness of an incident in which four NYPD detectives allegedly consumed alcohol on duty and focuses on a "possible rape" a detective may have committed against a waitress.

According to the Post's police sources, the officers were drinking at the steakhouse Parrilla from around 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., when the waitress, who is in her 20s, "found one of the guys attractive" and allegedly showed him "provocative" photos of herself. The detective in question, who is in his 40s and has been a cop nearly 20 years, took the waitress in the back of the restaurant where the incident is said to have occurred. The waitress told police that she was intoxicated during the encounter, fell asleep afterwards, and awoke to one of Parrilla's owners sexually assaulting her.

The paper notes that the waitress has a criminal record, and was fired from her job after making the accusations. Michael Palladino, the head of the Detectives' Endowment Association, made this classy comment about the waitress showing the officers photos: “If that is, in fact, true, it sounds like she was trying to serve them more than they ordered, which calls into question her credibility."

Police are still looking for the owner of the restaurant who allegedly assaulted the waitress.

Another NYPD source says the detective, who is merely under investigation and has not been charged with a crime, says he'll likely be disciplined for taking wine with his dinner. “He has an administrative problem. There’s video that shows them drinking alcohol.” But don't worry about whether or not the police can do their jobs after a few glasses of wine: a source adds that all four detectives were "fit for duty" after the four-hour meal.
