Over 2,000 previously-guarded FBI documents were revealed yesterday, all with one common tie: Ted Kennedy. Not so shocking is that the Kennedy paper trail eventually leads to sex parties with Marilyn Monroe. Yep, according to the documents, which the Smoking Gun got a hold of, the juiciest bit of vintage gossip is that Ted, John and Bobby Kennedy, along with Marilyn and some of the Rat Pack, used to hold the scandalous soirees at JFK's suite at the Carlyle Hotel.
The featured participants were allegedly John, Robert and Ted Kennedy, actor Peter Lawford and his wife Patricia Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Allegedly a divorcee of a U.S. ambassador, Jacqueline Hammond, "has considerable information concerning sex parties which took place at the Hotel Carlyle in NYC, and in which a number of persons participated at different times."
The FBI report on the alleged Upper East Side orgies was prompted by a mafia informant back in July 1965, the NY Post notes, who said "that the mob wanted to use women supplied by 'associates of Frank Sinatra' to embarrass the Kennedys in New York" because of RFK's war against organized crime. Alas, the FBI never ended up investigating, or else we'd all be watching Marilyn Monroe and JFK sex tapes right now instead of reading about their romps in the rags.
