The body of a 22-year-old NJ college student was found in a New Brunswick backyard on Saturday morning. William McCaw, who attended Kean University, was fatally beaten.

It's believed he was last seen leaving a fraternity party and was killed between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. The Star-Ledger reports, "Authorities say McCaw had no known connection to the residents of the home," who are Rutgers students. A neighbor told NBC New York, "We can see the house, and it's terrifying. We don't know anything about it. It could have been any of us in this house, any of our guests or friends that could be in the backyard."

McCaw, a native of Tennessee, had previously attended Rutgers before transferring to Kean and was known to be a devoted Rutgers athletics fan. On the Rutgers Pi Kappa Phi Facebook page, the fraternity wrote, "It is with heavy hearts today that the Iota Tau Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi says goodbye to Billy McCaw, our beloved brother and friend, who was taken from us far too soon. Before transferring to Kean University this semester, Billy was an initiate of our associate chapter, and a passionate contributor to the growth of our young organization... Most importantly of all, Billy will be remembered as a genuine friend, and a selfless individual who always gave the impression that he cared. Today the brotherhood mourns together with Billy's other loving friends, and especially with his family, whose loss cannot be expressed in any amount of words."

No arrests have been made; the investigation is ongoing.
