  • Devils 2, Lightning 1 (OT): With rivals Montreal and Pittsburgh idle, New Jersey saw its win vault it back into first place in the Eastern Conference. Credit goes out to Patrik Elias, who scored the game-winner in overtime and assisted on the earlier strike. The Devils' sitting atop the playoff race isn't a schedule fluke, either. They have a game in hand on the Penguins and the same number as the Canadiens.

  • Pistons 101, Knicks 97: The last times these teams played in New York, the Pistons had 65 points in the entire game. (And yes, the Knicks won that game. It's a shame that had to be pointed out.) This time, Detroit reached that plateau by the middle of the third-quarter. Jamal Crawford had one of his bad nights as a chucker, shooting only 6-of-15 from the floor. With Zach Randolph nursing a foot injury and not with the team due a personal matter, Eddy Curry was free to put up his patented 38-minute, 23-point, four-rebound performance.

  • Hornets 107, Nets 96: Chris Paul looks like a quicker and better-shooting version of Jason Kidd. The Hornets' young star put up 25 points and 16 assists as the Hornets won this one easily. Richard Jefferson led all scorers with 27, but Nenad Krstic's 14 points and 11 rebounds had to bring a smile to Lawrence Frank's face. Devin Harris, still getting adjusted, had 17 points and eight assists, but he was clearly the second-best point guard on the court.
