- Yankees 11 Boston 9: This was one of those games that could have meant much, much more. If the Yankees had ended up choking away 5-0 and 6-1 leads, they really could have gone into a tailspin while providing ignition to the Red Sox. But, A-Rod homered in the ninth with a runner on to tie the game and Marcus Thames did the exact same thing to provide the walk off and make a winner out of Javier Vazquez.
- Mets 3 Atlanta 2: The Mets got to Derek Lowe early and Mike Pelfrey made it stand up to earn his fifth win of the season. Chris Carter had a RBI and K-Rod shut down the Braves in the ninth for his sixth save.
