Police say they are looking for a man who shot and killed a fellow patron at a Brooklyn nightclub on Valentine’s Day.
According to NYPD officials, the gun violence was sparked by a dispute at Quilox Lounge on Church Avenue near East 95th Street in East Flatbush around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Police on Wednesday identified the victim as 30-year-old Sheriff Shittu. He was shot in his head and later died at Brookdale University Hospital, officials said.
Shittu lived in Far Rockaway, according to the NYPD.
Police said they are still investigating a motive for the shooting and did not have details about the argument between the men.
They said the man they are seeking was last seen wearing a black jacket with white pants and ran away in an unknown direction after the incident.
NYPD data shows shootings in the 67th Precinct, which includes East Flatbush and Remsen Village, are down significantly so far in 2026 compared to the same period last year.
Shittu is this year’s first victim of gun violence in the precinct, where five people had been shot by Feb. 15, 2025, according to the data.
This is a developing story based on preliminary information from police and may be updated.
