Police released surveillance images of a man wanted for an alleged assault in midtown Manhattan over the weekend.

According to the NYPD, at just after midnight on Saturday, February 21, a 41-year-old man got into a "verbal dispute with a male suspect inside of 1377 6th Ave (Manhattan Gourmet Deli)." Then, police say, the suspect followed the victim outside the store "and slashed his face with a box cutter causing a laceration above the victim's left eye."

The suspect fled and went southbound on 6th Avenue and then westbound on West 55th Street. The victim was treated at Roosevelt Hospital.

In addition to the surveillance images, police describe the suspect as approximately 5'11", 190 pounds and wearing a black ski hat, white sneakers and a black jacket.
