One man was fatally shot in the neck and two others were injured during a shooting outside of a house party in Bed-Stuy early Sunday morning.
Police responded to 539 Macon Street near Malcolm X Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered three men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, since identified as 29-year-old Steven Bell of Bed-Stuy, had been shot in the neck and was pronounced dead on arrival at Kings County Hospital.
Two other male victims, ages 27 and 29, were shot in the leg and hip respectively. Both men were transported to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. Their names have not been released by authorities.
The NY Post reports that the shooter opened fire in the front hallway of the building, after being denied entry to a house party at the address. "The whole party emptied out, and everyone went running for the door at once," one neighbor told the tabloid.
It was not immediately clear if the victims were explicitly targeted by the shooter.
No arrests have been made as of Monday morning, and the investigation is ongoing.
