Although he still has an approval rating of over 60 percent, New Yorkers don't want Mayor Bloomberg to run for a fourth term, according to a new study. A Qunnipiac poll revealed that despite the Mayor's popularity, 58 percent of voters say they won't cast a ballot for him if he tries to run again.
The report found that 22 percent of New Yorkers pledged to support Bloomberg, 7 percent were undecided, and 13 percent said it depends on who else runs. Coming after Bloomberg's narrow third-term victory, the results of the study aren't really much of a surprise. But that doesn't mean the Mayor isn't considering a pursuing a fourth term. He's already alluded to the concept several times, and earlier this month he appointed a panel to revise the city charter and study term limits. According to the Daily News, that committee could restore two-term limits or eliminate term limits altogether.
