Cy Young Award-winning former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens pleaded not guilty today to charges of lying under oath to Congress about using human growth hormone. In 2008, Clemens swore to a House committee that he had not used performance-enhancing drugs. Federal prosecutors didn't buy it, and have subsequently charged him with making false statements, perjury and obstruction of Congress. If he is convicted, Clemens could face up to 30 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine, as well as catastrophic damage to his baseball reputation. But he'll have a while till judgment day, since U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton set an April 5 date for choosing a jury.
