Oh, Staten Island—why? In the latest unfortunate knife-y incident on Status Island we have two sisters who went and stabbed a mother and daughter in the breast and arm, respectively, over an iPod Touch.
The incident occurred Monday night at the Elm Park home of Debra Benevento, 52, and her 23-year-old daughter Danielle. About 7:30 p.m. sisters Sophia and Monique Lugero, 25 and 21, showed up at the Benevento home to demand that Danielle return to Monique an iPod Touch that the former said she had found in a parking lot over the weekend. "As the argument escalated, Monique pulled out a knife and stabbed Danielle in the arm and slashed her mother’s breast while Sophia pulled Danielle’s hair and punched the mother in the head, police said."
The Beneventos were treated for minor injuries and police quickly arrested the Lugero girls and charged them with assault and weapons possession. Though one report says that the sisters knew Danielle Benevento, her mother tells the News that they did not know each other. Still unknown? If the Lugeros used Find My Phone to track down the Touch.
