After a record-breaking snowy February, what does March have in store? Well, the first day of the month is looking pretty good. The low pressure system off Cape Cod is slowly moving eastward. As it does the city will see a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the snowbank-melting mid 40s, which is about normal.
Despite the pesky storm finally getting out of our hair, there's still a couple of precipitation events to contend with this week. First there's an upper-level disturbance passing overhead late tonight. It will bring clouds and a slight chance of rain or snow from midnight tonight through midnight tomorrow.
The second event is more significant and something we've become familiar with this winter: A Gulf Coast storm that swings up the East Coast. This storm currently looks like it will pass far enough south that the city will mainly see rain during the day on Wednesday and snow Wednesday night. Wednesday and Thursday should be cool, with highs only near 40 but clearing skies and a warming trend are expected by next weekend.
