Parenting advice sensation Amy Chua, best known to America as the playdate and crappy homemade card-hating, piano/violin practice-loving, Chinese values-endorsing "Tiger Mother", was named to Time's 2011 list of 100 influential people. Which means she was at last night's gala dinner—the bestselling memoirist/Yale law professor Tweeted, "Had a great time at the Time 100 dinner last night. Got to hang out (and talk about parenting :) ) with Mark Wahlberg and Bruno Mars, who performed...will post pictures soon.." Chua also brought her husband, fellow bestselling novelist (and Yale law professor) Jed Rubenfeld and their daughters Sophia and Lulu.

Chua's Time 100 profile is written by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, "Few have the guts to parent in public. Amy's memoir is brutally honest, and her willingness to share her struggles is a gift. Whether or not you agree with her priorities and approach, she should be applauded for raising these issues with a thoughtful, humorous and authentic voice."

Getting a Time 100 profile also meant that Chua posed with real tigers for her photograph—her oldest daughter, Harvard-or-Yale-bound Sophia blogged about the experience (and posted many pictures), "Tiger cubs are super playful. Like godzilla kittens with razor-sharp claws," and revealed, "They brought us tiger outfits in case [tigers] Dale and Alia 'didn't cooperate.' Not pictured here: the fishnets, leashes, and striped tails... my dad took one look and was like, 'Yeah, I don't think so.' Not my cup of tea either. Luckily, the tigers behaved :)"
