A woman was fatally stabbed outside a Bronx bar early Sunday following an argument, and police said they’re looking for the person who attacked her.
Officers responded shortly after 4 a.m. to a 911 call about an assault in front of Mama Dora Bar and Lounge on East Kingsbridge Road between Morris and Jerome avenues in Fordham Manor, according to NYPD officials.
When police arrived, they learned 35-year-old Pamela Almonte Cabrea had been stabbed multiple times in her chest and was taken by private means to BronxCare Health Systems. She was later transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
Surveillance video shows chaos breaking out among the late-night crowd outside the bar, ABC7 reported. Officials said the stabbing stemmed from a verbal dispute at the bar, and Cabrea lived in Melrose, about three miles from where she was stabbed.
Police have not made any arrests in the case and said they are still investigating.
NYPD data shows homicides and felony assaults in the 52nd Precinct, which includes Fordham Manor, Bedford Park, Kingsbridge, Norwood and University Heights, fell 55% and rose 16%, respectively, through Oct. 19, compared to the same period last year. Citywide, those crimes are down 16% and less than 1% year over year.
