A dozen people in a Hurricane Sandy shelter in Park Slope have been afflicted with a stomach virus.

"My friend's mother's house is destroyed, and we have to see what can be salvaged," says one Staten Island resident. "The sewage has mixed with the ocean water, and gas lines have collapsed. No joke."

With Staten Island in shambles after Hurricane Sandy we heard a bunch yesterday about the aerial rescues on the island. Now we have a bird's eye view of the missions as they unfolded.
