The parade of unseasonably warm weather continues unabated! The morning fog has evaporated and we're on our way to the sunny low 70s this afternoon thanks to a southerly breeze. Mid-May temperatures for the last day of winter seems appropriate this year. Sometime tonight a weak backdoor cold front, a front that sneaks down from New England, will pass through the city. That will bring us an easterly wind and hold the temperature down to the lower 60s for the first day of spring.
As things cool down on Tuesday night, the cool moist air of tomorrow afternoon will reach saturation so be on the lookout for 77 degrees. Since records are difficult to break it's best to take that forecast with a grain of salt. The Weather Service doesn't say the lower 70s are more likely.
The second backdoor cold front of the week passes on Thursday night. Instead of being way, way warmer than normal, Friday's high is expected to be in the upper 60s, which is only way warmer than normal. A bit more cooling is expected for the weekend when the highs should be about ten degrees above average.
