Former gubernatorial candidate, and possible presidential candidate, Jimmy McMillan is apparently the spokesperson of the moment. Hot on the heels of his "The Weather Is Too Damn Cold!" commercial for WPIX's Linda Church, the Rent Is Too Damn High man has gone and made... a video for a group of students trying to draft Indiana governor Mitch Daniels to run for President? Sit back and enjoy the strangeness of everyone's favorite gloved complainer doing his thing for another pol and then we'll explain:
So how do a bunch of kids unaffiliated with Daniels (who has not thrown his hat in the ring) get a guy like McMillan to come shoot a video for them? They ask. Yale junior Michael Knowles, the political director for the Draft Daniels group, tells Politico that they had originally looked at McMillan impersonators but were "thrilled" when the man himself agreed to do the spot for them (no word on what he was paid).
Once they got McMillan on set he pretty much did his thing, going off the script the kids had given him. “We just let him roll with it,” said Knowles, “and we didn’t have to give him any direction on costumes.”
Since McMillan has previously mentioned his presidential ambitions do note that he never once says Daniels name.
Meanwhile, we look forward to where McMillan will show his wonderfully mustached face next. Perhaps Priceline? We can see it now, "The Plane Ticket Prices Are Too Damn High!"
