The police are investigated a brazen grand larceny that took place on a NYC Transit bus last month. The victim was a grandmother carrying her grandson.
According to the police, the incident occurred on February 26th around 7:25 p.m., near Commonwealth Avenue and East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. The NYPD says a man grabbed "the purse of a 53-year-old female victim from around her arm while she was seated and carrying her grandson. The victim's purse contained her iPhone 5 and personal identifications."
The purse-snatcher ran off the bus and fled on foot down Commonwealth Avenue. Video from the bus shows the suspect opening the rear exit doors of the bus and then reaching around to grab the purse and fleeing:
The suspect is described as a male in his teens, approximately 5'4" tall and 130 pounds, last seen wearing a green jacket, black t-shirt, black pants and multi-colored book bag.
