This afternoon, some unhappy constituents in New York's 9th Congressional district brought out their homemade signs to Rep. Anthony Weiner's Queens office to demand that he resign. Even though Weiner is off to sexting rehab, and isn't there, these frustrated residents tell NY1 it's not enough. One Juniper Park Civic Association member said, "We worked with Anthony Weiner in the past, he helped us with things in the neighborhood. But now he's stepped over the boundaries. He really went a step too far, and this is where we're telling him he has to step down."
Another said, "He probably thinks this is going to blow over. It's not going to blow over, the only thing that's going to blow over is him. He's got to get out now." But his pecs look so good!
Other Queens residents were more mixed about his rehab stint. WCBS 2 caught them saying, "I hope he does go into rehab and I hope it does help him. He obviously needs some kid of help. This is crazy. This is insane," and "I think he’s just trying to save face and change the public so they feel bad for him instead of his wife and like him. Going to rehab for sex isn’t going to do anything. I don’t believe he has sex addiction." If his friends are to be believed, Weiner needs some serious therapy.
